Landslide Blocks Dumre-Besisahar Road, Stranding Travelers

The Dumre-Besisahar road section has come to a standstill following a landslide triggered by heavy rain overnight. According to Thaneshwar Chapain, Information Officer at the District Police Office in Lamjung, the road at Dalal in Besisahar municipality-1 has been completely blocked since this morning due to a significant mudslide.

Efforts to clear the debris and restore traffic flow have been initiated, with a dedicated team deployed for the task. However, relentless rainfall has posed challenges, slowing down clearance operations.

The road closure has left vehicles and passengers stranded, affecting travel to and from key destinations such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Manang via Besisahar. Among those affected is an ambulance, stuck amidst the obstruction.

The Dumre-Besisahar road, a critical 42-kilometer route, remains inaccessible until further notice as authorities work tirelessly to reopen the passage for commuters.
