12-point MCC interpretative declaration is a lie: Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has affirmed that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will be implemented as it has been approved by the Parliament.

Speaking briefly to the media at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, Oli stated that there is no doubt regarding the execution of the MCC, which has received parliamentary approval.

“What the Parliament has endorsed will be put into action,” he emphasized.

Nevertheless, he criticized the 12-point interpretative declaration made during the MCC’s passage through Parliament, labeling it as falsehood.

Oli described the 12-point interpretative declaration as a fabrication. “The deception propagated by the ruling party is a lie they fed to the public,” Oli remarked. “The deceptive declaration sanctioned by the parliament serves as evidence that the Nepali people have been misled. The MCC does not accept this.”

The Parliament approved the MCC with the stipulation of a 12-point interpretative declaration, a move that Oli deems dishonest and a breach of trust towards the populace. He reiterated that the MCC would not acknowledge the 12-point interpretative declaration.

During that period, the government had issued an interpretative declaration regarding the MCC, accusing the Nepali people of deception and falsehood.
