17 percent new and active face from Congress in the general election
About 17 percent of the new candidates have got an opportunity in the Nepali Congress to compete for the election of members of the House of Representatives. Nepali Congress(NC) has got 91 out of 165 seats from the alliance.
Out of the 91 candidates nominated by Congress, 15 new leaders have got an opportunity to contest the election.
From Congress, Vice-President Dhanraj Gurung to 28-year-old Yogesh Gauchan to Mohammad Firdos Alam is contesting the elections for the first time. It is analyzed that the victory of these candidates, who was unanimously selected by the party, is easy.
Vice-Chairman Gurung is contesting from Syangja 2. UML secretary Padma Aryal is also a candidate from there. Aryal defeated Congress leader Gopalman Shrestha in the 2074 elections.
Billionaire Binod Chaudhary, Deputy general secretary of Nepali Congress, Kishore Singh Rathore, State Minister Umesh Shrestha, Central Members Pradeep Paudel and Shyam Ghimire, Former Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission Bishwa Paudel, former Mayor of Gokarneshwar Municipality Santosh Chalise, Gyan Bahadur Gaha, Chairman of Ilam District Dumbar Khadka, Kaski District President Kishore Dutt Baral along with the leaders are there to contest the first House of Representatives elections.
