246 Lives Lost in Natural Disasters Across Nepal; Relief Efforts Intensified
A total of 246 people have lost their lives due to landslides, flooding, and inundation caused by continuous rainfall from September 26-28 across Nepal, according to details released by Nepal Police today.
The disasters have also left 178 individuals injured, while 18 people remain missing. Spokesperson for the Home Ministry, Rishiram Tiwari, reported that 1,774 people were rescued during the emergency.
The Bagmati Province, particularly the Kathmandu Valley, suffered the most severe impact, with 139 fatalities. Relief efforts are ongoing, with financial aid provided to 176 dependent families under the ‘Disaster Victim Rescue and Relief Guidelines, 2077’.
Home Minister-led teams have been mobilized to accelerate relief distribution, reconstruction, and rehabilitation efforts, and authorities are working to clear highways and restore vehicular movement.
