255 Medal-Winning Players to Receive Monthly Stipend

The government has announced that a total of 255 athletes who have won medals in international sports competitions, including the Olympics, the Asian Games, and the South Asian Games, will receive monthly stipends.

This initiative was highlighted in the economic survey presented by Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun during the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday. The survey outlines the government’s commitment to supporting and incentivizing athletes who bring pride to the nation through their sporting achievements.

Additionally, a detailed project report has been prepared for the establishment of a high-altitude training center at Timal in Manang district, aimed at enhancing the capacity and performance of athletes.

The economic survey also mentioned the completion of stadiums in Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Nepalgunj, and Itahari as part of the government’s ‘one-province one-stadium’ scheme. Furthermore, sports-related infrastructure projects are underway in 171 local levels across the country, reflecting the government’s continued investment in the development of sports facilities and the promotion of athletic excellence.
