42,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in depots across Nepal

Nepal has 42,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in depots across the country, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

The ministry on Sunday announced the availability of fertilizers and said that 86,246 metric tons of chemical fertilizers were sold and distributed in 4 months of the current fiscal year and 42,983 metric tons of fertilizers were still available.

According to Prakash Kumar Sanjel, the spokesperson of the ministry, Krishi Samagri Company has 35,499 metric tons and salt trading has 7,534 metric tons of fertilizer.

Krishi Samagri Company has 15,179 metric tons of urea, 18,432 metric tons of DAP, and 1,837 metric tons of potash.

Similarly, Salt Trading Corporation has 6,584 metric tons of urea, 854 metric tons of DAP, and 95 metric tons of potash.

Fertilizer shortage has been a perennial crisis in Nepal.
