6th Janakpur Literature Festival Kicks Off from February 6

The 6th Janakpur Literature Festival is set to begin on Thursday, celebrating the rich roots, culture, and traditions of Mithila. Organized by the Nawa Mithila Foundation, the three-day event will bring together literary figures, cultural experts, and social thinkers for discussions, debates, and critiques on various aspects of literature and society.
Foundation Chair Amit Kumar Sah said the festival will explore a range of topics, including the challenges and opportunities of Janakpurdham, reading culture in the digital age, Nepal’s foreign policy and borders, and the practice of federalism and the rule of law. The event will also feature musical performances alongside panel discussions and solo discourse sessions.
A special highlight of the festival will be the presentation of the ‘Amit Jha Literature and Music Award’ to the family of late classical musician Gurudev Kamat in recognition of his contributions to music.
