7 Injured in Jajarkot Earthquake Now Undergoing Treatment in Kathmandu
Seven earthquake survivors from Jajarkot district have been airlifted to Kathmandu for advanced medical care. The injured individuals were transported from Chaurjahari via a Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft and are currently receiving treatment at the TU Teaching Hospital.
As reported by Police Spokesperson DIG Kuber Kadayat, the earthquake has resulted in a total of 100 casualties in Jajarkot and 38 in Rukum West. Additionally, 166 individuals sustained injuries, with 81 in Jajarkot and 85 in Rukum. Those with severe injuries have been transferred to Kathmandu for specialized treatment.
In response to the disaster, Nepal Police has deployed 859 officers for relief, rescue, and search operations in the affected areas, with additional personnel prepared for deployment as needed. The Armed Police Force and Nepali Army have also mobilized their resources to assist in the affected regions.
Furthermore, Bir Hospital and the National Trauma Center in Kathmandu have been put on standby to handle medical emergencies. Vice-Chancellor of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Prof Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Basnet, has confirmed that Bir Hospital and the National Trauma Center have prepared emergency facilities, operating theaters, and intensive care units to address the influx of patients.
