73rd Birth Anniversary of Madan Kumar Bhandari

Today marks the 73rd birth anniversary of Madan Kumar Bhandari, the esteemed former secretary-general of the CPN (UML). To honor his significant contributions to Nepal’s communist movement, various commemorative programs are being held.

The Madan Bhandari Foundation is organizing a seminar titled “People’s Multiparty Democracy: Political Development and Stability” this afternoon at the CPN (UML) central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur. Additionally, the prestigious Madan Bhandari Rastriya Puraskar will be awarded at the event.

Bhandari, a pioneer of People’s Multiparty Democracy, presented this guiding principle at the party’s fifth national general convention. Born in Taplejung district in 2009 BS, he met a tragic end in a road accident at Dasdhunga, Chitwan, in 2050 BS. Recognized as a brilliant Marxist thinker and communist ideologue, Bhandari’s legacy continues to inspire Nepal’s political landscape.
