94 Israeli Trekkers, Including 34 People with Disabilities, Conquer Mt. Annapurna
A group of 94 Israeli trekkers, including 34 people with disabilities, completed a remarkable trek around Mt. Annapurna, showcasing determination and teamwork. The team, consisting of 12 wheelchair-assisted participants, 22 physically challenged explorers, and support staff, embarked on their journey on September 18 and completed it on September 26.
The trek began at Humde Airport, and the group spent two nights in Manang, acclimatizing and experiencing local culture. They successfully crossed the Thorung La pass at 5,416 meters, a significant achievement for the group.
Upon their return, the trekkers were warmly welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Israeli Ambassador Hanan Goder and Laxman Gautam from the Nepal Tourism Board.
The initiative was more than just a physical challenge; it aimed to send a powerful message of inclusiveness and raise awareness about the capabilities of people with disabilities. The trek highlighted the importance of mutual support, determination, and the incredible possibilities that arise when people come together to help each other achieve great feats.
