Paul Shah to be presented before court
The High Court Pokhara has issued an order to present Purna Bikram (Paul) Shah before the court. Shah is currently in Tanahun Jail after the Nawalpur court found him guilty in the case of child molestation.
The Nawalpur District Court sentenced Shah to two years and six months in jail along with a fine of one million rupees on charges of sexual misconduct against a minor.
Shah’s lawyers filed an appeal against the decision in the Pokhara High Court. The joint bench of Pokhara High Court Chief Judge Dilliraj Acharya and Judge Rishi Rajbhandari has ordered the two sides to be presented before the court within the next 15 days, said Shah’s lawyer Kamlamohan Wagle.
It may be noted that the Actor Shah has been acquitted in the case by the Tanahun court but was jailed by the Nawalpur court. A complaint had been filed against Shah before Tanahun police in February last year accusing him of sexually abusing a minor.
