Government role needed to boost economy, economist Dr Nepal says
Economist Dr Govinda Nepal has called for a special role of the government to make the economy vibrant.
At an interaction programme on ‘economic priorities of the current government’ organized here by Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON), Dr Nepal stated that the economy is likely to become vibrant as a situation has been created for the operation of this government for five years.
He underscored the need of meeting people’s needs by preparing a basis for development in the country.”Programmes for reform should be unveiled as indicators of the economy are not good, investment has not increased and the public service delivery has also not improved,” he added.
Dr Nepal was of the view that the service delivery should be made citizen-friendly as well as production should be increased.
