Basanta Bahadur Kunwar appointed as new IGP of Nepal Police

The government has decided to appoint Basanta Bahadur Kunwar as the new inspector general of Nepal Police.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today took a decision to this effect.
The government on Monday promoted five Deputy Inspectors (DIG) General including Kunwar, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyam Lal Gyawali and Kiran Bajracharya to AIGs.
Incumbent IGP Dhiraj Pratap Singh, who has served Nepal Police for 30 years, will be retiring on March 25.
Incumbent IGP Singh will be replaced by the newly appointed Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.
