Surrounding houses collapsed while constructing Summit Apartment in Lalitpur (Photos)

The surrounding houses in Lalitpur’s Bakhundol has been collapsed while constructing an apartment in Lalitpur. The apartment is being constructed by Hotel Summit.

The surrounding houses destroyed on Friday night when a dozer was used to dig the foundation of new apartment. Two houses attached to the land where the apartment is to be built have been completely destroyed.

The road is also crashed. There was a rush of locals at night. However, there was no human loss.

According to the locals, no work permit has been taken for the construction of the apartment.

Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, Jaya Narayan Acharya, said that during the construction of the hotel structure, 5 nearby houses were damaged.

Acharya added that after the houses started collapsing due to the structure of the hotel, people trapped in the damaged houses were rescued by deploying a team including the police at 2 am to prevent human casualties.

Further investigation on the incident is underway.
