Work underway in Chitwan constituency 2 for April 23 by-election

Work is underway at the polling stations and centres in Chitwan constituency 2 for the April 23 by-election. Employees have been deployed at the places and required materials have been supplied. Election workers reached Ichhakamana and Kalika Municipalities on Thursday along with election materials, and Bharatpur on Friday.

Election materials including ballot boxes and ballot papers got to the election centres, said Am Bahadur Purja, information officer for the district election office. A total of 690 election workers for 138 polling centres have been deployed in Chitwan 2. Each of the polling centre gets five election workers, he said. There are a total of 124,695 eligible voters in the constituency.

For the by-poll, short-and-medium route vehicles have been banned in the constituency. Only long-route vehicles will operate, according to a notice issued by the district administration office, Chitwan. Long-route vehicles will be allowed towards Narayangadh in group under surveillance, read the notice.

However, vehicles that have got permission from the district administration office, ambulances, and the ones carrying health workers and journalists will be allowed.
