Tanahu-1: RSP’s Swarnim Wagle holds on to the lead

Dr. Swarnim Wagle, the candidate from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is currently holding a substantial lead in the vote count for the Tanahu-1 by-election to the House of Representatives (HoR) member held on Sunday.

According to the chief returning officer Komal Prasad Acharya, Swarnim Wagle from RSP has garnered 13,749 votes, while Govinda Bhattarai, the common candidate of the ruling coalition from Nepali Congress, has received 8,036 votes, and Sarbendra Khanal from CPN-UML secured 4,395 votes in the ongoing vote counting process.

The process of counting votes began at 11:45 pm yesterday. The Tanahu-1 constituency recorded a voter turnout of 63,757 across its 42 wards.
