Public holiday across Nepal on Tuesday to mourn centenarian Joshi death

The government has decided to observe a one-day public holiday across Nepal on Tuesday to mourn historian and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi’s death.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Fanindramani Pokharel, issued a statement on Monday and informed that it has been decided to declare a public holiday across the country on Tuesday.

The biggest living authority in Nepali cultural history, Joshi, 103, died on Sunday morning at KIST Medical College and Teaching Hospital.
