IPPF Director praises FPAN
Dr Alvaro Bermejo, Director General of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), has applauded the contribution of the Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) to the improvement of services of family planning, maternity health and sexual and reproductive health.
FPAN is the member organisation of IPPF in Nepal. Dr Bermejo arrived here on April 30 in connection to his five-day visit to Nepal.
“Such services be reached to the needy community. The IPPF’s economic and technical assistance to the FPAN will continue,” he said while speaking at a press meet here today.
Urging the Nepal Government to increase investment in sexual and reproductive health, he advised the government to visit the community with a greater sex education.
He took time to say that IPPF investment was focused on increasing access of majorly poor, marginalized, socially excluded, minorities and the deprived community to sexual and reproductive health. It works globally via its member organisations, it is said on the occasion.
The IPPF director-general also visited the FPAN-run Hormonal and Laser Therapy Clinic. FPAN President Lal Kasaju and manager Dr Naresh Pratap KC briefed Dr Bermejo about the organizational affairs.
