Three newly appointed ministers take oath of office and secrecy

The three newly appointed ministers took an oath of office and secrecy on Thursday. The ceremony was held at Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office, where President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to the ministers.

The day prior, President Paudel had assigned ministerial portfolios to the three newly appointed ministers, as recommended by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The President’s Office released a statement indicating that the head of state assigned ministerial posts to the lawmakers on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.

The three Nepali Congress lawmakers who were appointed ministers on Wednesday are Dhan Raj Gurung, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, and Dig Bahadur Limbu. Gurung, who is also the vice-president of the Nepali Congress, has been appointed as the Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.

Basnet has been appointed as the Minister of Health and Population, while Limbu will be heading the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the new coalition government. These appointments were made by the Nepali Congress, which has been allocated a total of eight ministries in the current government.
