Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey on Thursday secured a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly.

The motion of confidence, which was presented by CM Pandey himself, was passed with a majority of votes in his favor.

A total of 35 Members of Parliament (MPs) supported him, including 27 from the Nepali Congress, 7 from the Maoist Center, and 1 from the CPN United Socialist Party. However, 22 MPs from the CPN-UML voted against him, while 2 MPs from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) abstained from the voting process.
