Cabinet Expands for Tenth Time, Swears in New Minister

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Sunday announced the tenth expansion of Nepal’s Council of Ministers. The recommendation made by the Prime Minister led to the swearing-in of Surendraraj Acharya by President Ramchandra Paudel.

Acharya was appointed as the new Minister of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, while the previous Minister, Yadav, has been assigned to the Ministry of Water. Both appointments were made by Prime Minister Prachanda on Sunday morning.

According to Sagar Acharya, the Secretary of the President’s Office, the new Minister Acharya took the oath of office and secrecy in accordance with Article 80 of the Nepali Constitution in a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas, witnessed by President Paudel.
