MP Dr. Deuba Claims Fake Bhutanese Refugee Audio as “Totally Fake”

In response to the recent controversy surrounding the fake Bhutanese refugee-related audio, Nepali Congress Leader and Member of the House of Representatives (HoR), Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, has stated that the truth and facts about the issue will be revealed soon. Speaking to journalists at the Parliament building premises, Dr Deuba acknowledged that it is natural for people to get upset when they speak up for others, given that she is the wife of a senior leader.

Dr Deuba emphasized that the audio in question was created just two to three days ago and denied any involvement in the alleged fake refugee audio scandal. She further asserted that she was in Japan for seven months when the incident took place and that the audio is completely fabricated. She emphasized that the issue is not only a national concern but also an international one and that those who wish to trap others will eventually become ensnared themselves.

When asked about the involvement of major political parties, Dr Deuba stated that the issue of human trafficking is a significant crime that cannot be hidden. She added that she does not believe that Nepal can hide such a crime since internationally, drug and human trafficking-related crimes are considered to be the most serious. Moreover, Dr Deuba expressed her confidence that the police investigation will reveal all the true facts about the matter. As a woman who has faced difficulties in every sector, Dr Deuba stated that she closely observes issues such as this. She further noted that fake news is common these days and that the police are investigating the source of the audio and when it was created.
