NC youth leaders expresses solidarity with home minister’s anti-corruption drive
The youth leaders of Nepali Congress recently held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha. During the meeting, they conveyed their support towards the Home Minister’s actions and the work of the police administration, as the investigation into the case of falsely claiming Bhutanese refugees as Nepalis progressed.
Notable members including Madhu Acharya and Govind Raj Pokharel, alongside leaders Gururaj Ghimire, Bhupendrajung Shahi, Ranjit Karna, and others, requested the government to conduct a fair investigation without any external pressure. “We have informed the Home Minister that the culprits in the refugee case should face legal consequences without any undue influence,” said leader Ranjit Karn.
In response, Home Minister Shrestha ensured that the government would take firm actions against the perpetrators, stating that the nation cannot progress until the roots of corruption and bribery are eradicated.
Moreover, Former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, who also serves as a central member of Congress, was found to be involved in the fraudulent case of presenting Nepalis as Bhutanese refugees. The police apprehended him earlier today.
