Meeting of Congress top leaders underway in Dhumbarahi

A meeting of officials and former officials of the Nepali Congress has begun today at Dhumbarahi, the residence of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The discussions, which began at 2.30 pm, cover several critical issues facing the party, including the internal activities of the party, the selection of ministers in the provinces, and the recent arrest of Bal Krishna Khand in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee case.

During Wednesday’s meeting, Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma proposed the suspension of Khand from the party. The ongoing meeting is also focusing on the expansion of the party’s fraternal organizations and the formation of the party’s central department.

The selection of ministers in Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces is another crucial item on the agenda. The party members are discussing the most suitable candidates for these positions.
