Agricultural expert Madan Rai in police custody over allegations of sexual misconduct

Agricultural expert Madan Rai has been detained by Khotang Police after being accused of sexually abusing students studying at a school run by his Shubham Foundation.

The arrest was made this morning from the foundation’s premises.

According to reports, Rai has been accused of touching the private parts of children who were kept for teaching, inciting them for physical contact, making them touch their private parts, naked, and doing objectionable acts in front of the students. This appalling behavior has left the community reeling with shock and outrage.

Madan Rai, the founder of Shubham Foundation, had been running the foundation at Janajagriti High School in Diktel, the Khotang district headquarters, for several years. The foundation was established with the aim of promoting education and agriculture in the area.
