At 79, Robert De Niro Shows No Signs of Slowing Down – Welcomes Seventh Child

Hollywood legend Robert De Niro has once again shown that age is just a number, as he welcomed his seventh child into the world at the age of 79, proving that he’s still got what it takes to be a hands-on dad.

A spokesman for Robert De Niro confirmed to CNN on Tuesday (May 09, 2023) that the actor has once again become a father.

The Oscar winner broke the news in an interview with ET Canada on Monday, where he was promoting his new film, coincidentally titled “About My Father”.

When the topic of paternity came up during the conversation, the 79-year-old gently corrected the interviewer when she said that De Niro had six children.

“Seven, actually. I just had a baby,” the actor said.

There is some mystery about the mother of De Niro’s seventh child, however. He has six children from his previous relationships.

The “Godfather” star also said that being a father is one of his favourite things, noting that he tries to “being loving with (his) kids” even if he needs to be “stern about stuff” sometimes.

De Niro smilingly said, “I don’t think I’m a cool dad.”

The actor has two children with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, Drena and Raphael. They were married from 1976 to 1988. He and his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith had twins, Aaron and Julian, in 1995. De Niro has a son, Elliot, and a daughter, Helen Grace, from his marriage to Grace Hightower, which ended in divorce in 2018.

According to People Magazine, the Oscar-winner’s daughter has been named Gia Virginia Chen De Niro and was born on April 6.
