Laxmi Maharjan, Wanted in Bhutanese Refugee Scam, Apprehended

Laxmi Maharjan, a suspect who had been evading authorities in connection with the counterfeit Bhutanese refugee scam, has been apprehended by the police.

According to reliable sources, Maharjan, a resident of Lalitpur, was arrested and subsequently presented before the District Court in Kathmandu on Friday.

This latest arrest brings the total number of individuals detained in relation to the case to 17.

However, as of Friday afternoon, 14 out of the 30 individuals charged in the case remain at large and are considered fugitives.
