UML, RSP, and RPP Unite to Delay Parliament Meeting Over Tax Manipulation Allegations

The scheduled Parliament meeting for today was significantly affected as allegations emerged regarding the involvement of unauthorized individuals in the preparation of the national budget and manipulation of tax rates. The resulting protests from the opposition parties, including the CPN (UML), RSP, and RPP, caused a delay in the commencement of the meeting, which was initially scheduled for 11 o’clock but only began recently.

The controversy surrounding the alleged interference in the budget preparation and tax rate manipulation has cast a shadow over the legitimacy of the parliamentary proceedings. During Monday’s meeting, Gyanendra Shahi, the chief whip of the RPP, raised concerns, pointing out the involvement of external entities in the manipulation of tax rates.
