PM Responds Critics in NA : Says India Visit Criticism ‘Inappropriate’

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his opinion regarding the criticism against his visit to India, stating that such criticism is inappropriate. He believes that opposing his visit could have negative consequences, including jeopardizing pending agreements and weakening Nepal as a whole.

During a National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dahal addressed the concerns raised by parliamentarians and urged all political parties to demonstrate national unity in support of the agreements made with India.

Moreover, Prime Minister Dahal clarified that he did not propose exchanging the Kalapani region with India. He explained that his previous remarks, which caused some controversy, were taken out of context from a conversation he had with Nepali journalists. He mentioned that certain intellectuals in Nepal had brought up the option of exploring relations with Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Dahal emphasized that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public commitment to resolving the border issue between Nepal and India was significant for Nepal.

Additionally, Prime Minister Dahal claimed that his visit to India resulted in securing billions of dollars worth of investments for Nepal.
