Parliament’s Buffalo Debate: Rabi Lamichhane Criticizes Himself
Rabi Lamichhane, the Chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), expressed his criticism of his own actions during a session in Parliament.
Acknowledging that a certain incident concerning the Prime Minister’s visit to India should not have taken place in Parliament, Lamichhane admitted that he would hold himself accountable for engaging in an inappropriate debate on behalf of his party.
Lamichhane voiced his concern that Parliament should not be spending five years deliberating on trivial matters such as buffaloes. He expressed his disappointment and shame that both the ruling party and the opposition parties were wasting time and energy discussing such an insignificant issue. Lamichhane emphasized that this was an incorrect course of action and stated, “I am willing to engage in self-criticism for the mistakes committed by our party, as such actions should not have been undertaken.”
