80 cattle die from lumpy skin disease in Chitwan
Eighty cattle have died from lumpy skin disease in Chitwan district.
According to the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Services Expert Centre, Chitwan, the disease is being spread in the district.
Centre Chief Sushil KC said 3,086 cows and 252 buffaloes were affected by the disease in the district so far. The disease has spread in all seven local levels while Rapti municipality and Ichchhakamana rural municipality have been mostly affected.
The infection of lumpy skin disease was seen on 1,405 cattle in Rapti municipality, 265 in Kalika municipality, 204 in Khairahani municipality, 225 in Bharatpur metropolitan city, 114 in Ratnanagar municipality, 952 in Ichchhakamana rural municipality and 253 in Madi municipality, he mentioned.
According to the Centre, 49 cattle died from the disease in Ichchhakamana rural municipality, 13 in Bharatpur metropolis, 10 in Rapti municipality, and four in Kalika and Ratnanagar municipalities each.
