Gongabu Bus Park Boosts Capacity with 56 Ticket Counters

56 new ticket counters have been added to facilitate public transport services from Kathmandu to destinations outside the valley. Starting from June 16, these counters will be operational exclusively from the new bus park located in Gongabu. This decision was made by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The addition of these ticket counters follows the relocation of vehicles operating from various areas within Kathmandu, including Balkhu, Kalanki, Balaju, Machhapokhari, Gongabu, Koteshwar, and others, to the new bus park. The Chief of Municipal Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Rajunath Pandey, confirmed the removal of haphazardly operating ticket counters from Gongabu, Kalanki, and Chabahil areas.

Lotse Multi-Purpose Pvt. Ltd has taken the initiative to set up the 56 new ticket counters. Pankaj Malla, the Head of Human Resources at Lotse Multi-Purpose Pvt. Ltd., mentioned that these additional counters have been specifically designated for jeeps and microbuses. They have been established within the premises of the New Bus Park, in compliance with the decision made by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Previously, only large public vehicles were operating from the new bus park. Spanning an expansive area of 161 ropani, the new bus park has a capacity to accommodate more than 800 such vehicles.
