Bajhang Jeep Accident Claims Minister’s Wife and Sister-in-Law; Minister Critical
The wife and sister-in-law of Sudurpashchim Province’s Internal Affairs and Law Minister, Prithvi Bahadur Singh, lost their lives in a jeep accident in Bajhang.
The incident occurred in the Kedarsyun Rural Municipality’s Dharchhada area, when their vehicle veered off the road and plunged approximately 50 meters down to the Kalanga river bank.
The police have identified the deceased as Amrita Singh, the minister’s wife, and Jayadevi Singh, her sister-in-law.
Minister Prithvi Bahadur Singh, along with two others, suffered serious injuries in the accident. The injured were immediately airlifted to Nepalgunj by helicopter for urgent medical attention. The injured include Minister Singh himself, his Personal Security Officer (PSO) Assistant Police Constable Deepak Bhandari, and the driver, Dharma Raj Joshi.
The ill-fated jeep, bearing the registration number Su.Pa. Pra. 01001 Jha 480, was en route from Dadeldhura to Chainpur when the tragedy occurred.
