Wyndham Hotels and Resorts debut its upscale brand Ramada in Nepal
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels spanning more than 95 countries, today announced the opening of the 80-room Hotel in Itahari, Nepal, its first “Ramada by Wyndham” in Nepal. The owning company is AB Holdings Pvt. Ltd. which is a Hotel Development and Investment Company.
The debutant brand “Ramada by Wyndham” is the first hotel property entering into the hospitality market of this mystical land of Nepal. It is one of the fastest growing brands in the Asia Pacific region. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company and leading provider of management services with over 1,600 hotels in approximately 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region.
Conveniently located at a central district in Itahari, an upcoming business hub of Eastern Nepal, the hotel is slated to open by second quarter of 2024.
The property shall deliver remarkable guest experiences and a wide array of thoughtful amenities such as appealing dining options and well-equipped rooms for leisure and business guests. The property will offer 80 rooms, an All-Day Dining, Lobby Lounge and Delicatessen, Terrace Bar, Health Club and Spa, Meeting and Event halls, Outdoor swimming pool with kid’s pool. Built on the state-of-the-art technology and equipped with the modern amenities, the hotel can host up to 300 persons for meetings, wedding, private and corporate events. Guests shall experience world class culinary delights prepared by best chefs in the region.
This property will cater for leisure and business guests, offering them excellent service, best-in-class amenities, and peace of mind during their stay.
The agreement was signed by Desh Bandhu Basnet, Chairman of Grand Central Hotel, subsidiary of AB Holding and Nikhil Sharma, Market Managing Director Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Basnet said that it was a matter of pride to bring a world-class brand to Itahari. This has created an opportunity for visitors to the Eastern Region of Nepal to get world-class hospitality trusted by its guests since 1990.
Basnet, an engineer by education and an entrepreneur by profession who has been serving as Executive Committee Member of FNCCI for two consecutive periods from 2020-2023 and 2023-2026 respectively. Recently he has been appointed as Chairperson in the Tourism & Air Transport Committee of FNCCI. Basnet successfully served as Chairperson in Bi-National and NRN Coordination Forum from 2020 to 2023. He has been honored by Honorary Consul of the Republic of Zambia for Nepal and Executive Committee Member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI) respectively.
As a part of an ambitious growth and development plan of AB Holding, this is its third hotel project in Nepal- “Ramada by Wyndham”. Other two projects being an under construction 105 keys Mercure, Kathmandu and 52 Keys Sarovar Premiere, Manakamana.
