Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has clarified recent discussions surrounding his statement on the “storm of development”, the concern raised by UML chief whip Padam Giri.

He clarified that he did not claim the storm of development has already arrived, but rather expressed that it could come soon if the current pace of work continues.

During a budget discussion for the office of the prime minister and the council of ministers, UML chief whip Padam Giri questioned the portrayal of the development storm.

In response, Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized the importance of good governance and strong determination in achieving progress. He stated that he did not urge despair, frustration, mistrust, or suspicion, but instead called for faith and determination.

Prime Minister Prachanda clarified, “The storm of development has not yet arrived. However, based on the ongoing initiatives such as the tri-national partnership, the goal of generating 10,000 megawatts in 10 years, and various other projects, the storm may come soon if we continue on this path.”
