UML Calls for PM Dahal’s Resignation

The main opposition CPN-UML has sought resignation of Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The parliamentary session on Wednesday was disrupted by the CPN-UML as they voiced strong opposition to a recent statement made by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The party demanded the immediate resignation of PM Dahal following his claim that an Indian-origin businessman played a significant role in his appointment as Prime Minister.

Mahesh Bartaula, Chief Whip of the CPN-UML in the House of Representatives, emphasized the party’s commitment to raising this issue within the parliament. “During our parliamentary party meeting on Wednesday, we extensively deliberated on the matter. Since the Prime Minister himself asserted that he owes his position to India, we have decided to vehemently oppose his statement,” stated Bartaula. He further added, “Dahal’s statement not only undermines the country’s dignity, the people’s mandate, and the parliament but also renders him unfit to serve as the executive head of the nation.”

It should be noted that during a book release event on Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal made remarks suggesting that Sardar Pritam Singh had made repeated visits to Delhi in an attempt to secure the position of Prime Minister for Dahal.

The issue is expected to spark heated debates and discussions within the parliament, as the CPN-UML intensifies efforts to secure the resignation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
