Deputy PM Shrestha assures loan shark victims of justice

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has assured the victims of loan sharks that justice will be served, even if the ordinance addressing this issue remains inactive.

Speaking at a sit-in protest held by the victims in New Baneswar on Sunday, Shrestha emphasized that although the ordinance is currently inactive, it is still under consideration in the Parliament. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for those affected by loan sharks through a commission.

During his address, Home Minister Shrestha informed the victims that a bill aimed at combating loan sharks is currently being reviewed in Parliament. He expressed the government’s determination to move forward with the bill’s passage and urged the victims to be reassured that necessary actions are being taken before the ordinance is enacted. Shrestha emphasized that the commission’s work will continue unabated as it has been established specifically to address the concerns and demands of the loan shark victims.
