CPC mourns demise of Sita Dahal
The Communist Party of China (CPC) has extended profound sadness over the demise of Sita Dahal, the CPN (Maoist Centre) leader and spouse of Prime Minister and Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
In a message of condolence, CPC foreign department chief Liu Jianchao described Sita Dahal as a prominent leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre), recalling her visit to China at the invitation of the Department in the past. “We express our deep sorrow over her demise,” the party said, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
“During these hours of grief, the CPC wishes the Prime Minister for having strength and fortitude,” the party said.
Sita Dahal passed away on Wednesday morning while receiving treatment at the local Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital for complications related to Parkinson’s disease. She was 69.
