SSP Dr. Manoj Kumar K.C.’s ‘Enhancing Policing in Nepal’ Unveiled

The book, titled ‘Enhancing Policing in Nepal, Human Security Informed Approach, Concept & Implications,’ authored by Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr. Manoj Kumar K.C., has been unveiled in a momentous event at the Nepal Police Headquarter on Friday.

The book launch, attended by esteemed dignitaries and prominent figures, showcased the convergence of policing and intellectual endeavors in a way that promises to transform traditional perceptions.

Inspector General of Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the necessity for security personnel to grasp the complexities of law, society, and adapt to evolving dynamics. He stressed the importance of fostering a broadened understanding through continuous study, signaling a new chapter in the Nepal Police’s commitment to knowledge-driven policing.

Highlighting Dr. KC’s remarkable dedication, Inspector General Kunwar applauded the author’s exceptional ability to balance intellectual pursuits with active service in the police force. The book’s release stands as a testament to Dr. KC’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional law enforcement practices.

Shedding light on the conventional portrayal of police primarily engaged in fieldwork with traditional tools, such as shields, batons, sticks, and guns, Inspector General Kunwar expressed his belief that this book would dispel such notions. He confidently asserted that ‘Enhancing Policing in Nepal’ showcases the intellectual prowess of the Nepal Police, firmly positioning them as a force equipped not only for physical duties but also for intellectual endeavors.

The book launch was graced by esteemed personalities, including Former Lieutenant General Balananda Sharma and Dr. Emma Leslie AM, President of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies in Cambodia, who jointly unveiled the book. Their praise for the book’s content underscored its potential significance for the nation’s police force and security agencies, both domestically and internationally.

During the ceremony, Dr. Manoj Kumar KC delivered an impassioned welcome speech, expressing gratitude and offering insights into the book’s subject matter and the rigorous research methodologies applied in its creation.

Among the distinguished guests present were Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief Investigation Director of National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, and Retired Inspector General of Police. The event was further attended by esteemed representatives from Kathmandu University, Nepalese Army Officers, Additional Inspector General of Police from both Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Retired Additional Inspector General of Police, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and current and former senior police officers.
