RSP’s Responsible Move: Submits Proposal of Public Importance Urging Fair Investigation on Gold Smuggling Case

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has submitted a proposal of public importance at the House of Representatives, urging a fair investigation into the 100 kg gold smuggling case. The party lawmakers, led by President Rabi Lamichhane, filed the resolution proposal at the Parliament today.

The proposal demands accountability from the government regarding the issue of gold smuggling and seeks answers from the Home Minister during the parliamentary session.

The RSP also called for a comprehensive study and investigation into the use of Nepal as a transit hub for gold smuggling. They want to understand why criminals find it easy to use the country for such illegal activities.

In a related development, on Wednesday, the Revenue Investigation Department successfully recovered 100 kg of gold that had passed undetected through the customs office of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Sinamangal.

Following the discovery, the police took swift action and have already arrested 16 individuals suspected of being involved in the gold smuggling operation.
