Top Leaders Hold Meeting on Contemporary Issues and Koshi Province Government Formation
The top leaders of Nepal’s ruling parties convened an important meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to address the country’s latest political situation and discuss contemporary issues. The meeting, which took place after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s return from Italy, focused on key matters, including the formation of the new government in Koshi Province.
During the informal talks, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ along with other prominent leaders like Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC Vice-President and Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, NC General Secretary Bishow Prakash Sharma, and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula, delved into the recent ruling by the Supreme Court (SC) regarding the Koshi Province government.
The SC had recently nullified the appointment of Uddhav Thapa as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province, citing contradictions with the law. In light of this ruling, the top leaders explored options for forming a new government that adheres to the court’s directive.
The meeting marks a crucial step in addressing pressing contemporary issues and resolving the political situation in Koshi Province. As the leaders continue their discussions, the nation keenly awaits updates on the progress made in this regard.
