PM Dahal Calls for Reviving Vibrancy in Maoist Center, Membership Revealed

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed concerns over various challenges faced by his party during the central working committee meeting held in Kathmandu. Dahal highlighted the discontinuation of the party’s practice of self-criticism and the lack of activities, emphasizing that the Maoist Center should be more dynamic and politically engaged.

Dahal stressed the importance of the central working committee in providing guidance, addressing the party’s issues, and revitalizing its vibrancy. He acknowledged that the public’s expectations have risen since the party’s involvement in the government and pointed out signs of transformative changes in the country through recent government initiatives.

During the meeting, Dahal presented an organizational report that revealed the Maoist Center’s nationwide membership count, indicating a total of 752,956 members. Notably, the report highlighted regional disparities in membership concentration, with Bagmati having the highest number of members (147,353) and Sudurpashchim having the lowest (80,482).
