Sudurpashchim Province CM Expands Cabinet for Third Time

Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has expanded his cabinet for the third time, adding two ministers and one minister of state.

Rameshwar Chaudhary from the Nagarik Unmukti party has been appointed as the Minister for Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives. Ghanashyam Chaudhary, also from Nagarik Unmukti, has taken the role of minister of state.

The ministry had been unoccupied for the past six months, leading to speculation and uncertainty. Nagarik Unmukti had previously shown support for Shah but had been hesitant to join the government, citing unfulfilled promises regarding ministerial positions.

After intervention from Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and ruling coalition leaders on Tuesday, Nagarik Unmukti agreed to become a part of the government.

Additionally, Kamal Bahadur Shah has appointed Shiva Raj Bhatta from the Nepali Congress (NC) as the Minister for Internal Affairs and Law. This ministry had remained vacant following the tragic passing of Prithvi Bahadur Singh in a road accident on June 20.
