‘Buffaloes do not get caught in a spider’s web’
KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML, has lashed out at his political opponents, accusing them of attempting to trap him in a metaphorical “spider’s web.” Responding with a touch of sarcasm, Oli asserted, “Buffaloes do not get caught in a spider’s web,” implying that he is not easily ensnared by their tactics.
During a program held on Thursday, Oli highlighted his past roles as Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister, and Home Minister, emphasizing his commitment to making carefully calculated decisions in line with the law. He claimed that his vigilance had prevented any missteps that might align with his opponents’ desires.
“It is crucial for them to comprehend that a buffalo does not stumble into a spider’s web. Their machinations even extend to plotting my demise,” Oli added, suggesting that his opponents are not only seeking to undermine him politically but also personally.
Drawing on his own experiences, Oli mentioned enduring a decade of confinement during the Panchayat regime and accused his opponents of baselessly extending it for an additional four years. He maintained that he has taken measures to eliminate any vulnerabilities that could justify his arrest.
Accusing his rivals of tarnishing CPN-UML’s reputation through the spread of unfounded rumors, Oli alleged that this tactic serves as a distraction from their own alleged involvement in corrupt practices and smuggling.
