Govt to talk on Chinese map via diplomatic channel: Minister Sharma
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said government would adopt a diplomatic channel to talk about the map China released recently.
During a news conference organized at ministry today, Minister Sharma who is also the spokesperson of the government said, “Our official map is pointed at border and was passed by parliament unanimously. We need to talk through diplomatic channel in which context China made public its map.”
The government would make public its view after holding dialogue with China, according to her.
Similarly, Minister Sharma reminded that MCC compact was endorsed by the parliament with an interpretative declaration following intense debate and discussion on it. “MCC’s implementation moves ahead smoothly,” he argued.
Whether the interpretative declaration would be attracted in course of MCC implementation is major issue, she said, adding that government is aware of it and will move ahead in line with declaration.
In response to a question relating to TERAMOX system, she said the questions raised before implementation should be answered. Response must be clear. Phone tapping of citizen would not be allowed and other works allowed by law would be continued, according to her.
