Leaders Gather to Honor the Legacy of Subas Chandra Nembang
In a solemn gathering, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ along with top leaders from various political parties and dignitaries, paid their last respects to the late Chairperson of the Constituent Assembly, Subas Chandra Nembang.
The gathering convened at the UML Party office to honor Nembang’s memory. Subas Chandra Nembang, who had also served as the Vice Chair of the UML, was a prominent figure in Nepal’s political landscape.
Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman, KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President, Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN Unified Socialist Party Chairman, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman, Baburam Bhattarai, and several other political leaders were among those who came to pay their respects at Chyasal.
Tragically, Subas Chandra Nembang, a resident of Baluwatar, suffered a heart attack at 1 am on Tuesday. He was promptly rushed to the Maharajgunj Teaching Hospital for medical attention. Despite the dedicated efforts to save him, Nembang, who had served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Constituent Assembly Chairman/Speaker during different phases of his political career, succumbed to the heart attack at 1:40 am while undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
Subas Chandra Nembang, who had been a significant presence in Nepal’s political history, was 71 years old at the time of his passing. His contributions to the nation will be fondly remembered by many.
