Temporary Closure of Naubise-Malekhu Section of Prithvi Highway for Road Construction

The Naubise-Malekhu section of the Prithvi Highway is set to undergo temporary closure for road construction work starting this Thursday. The closure will occur between 11 pm and 3 am and will span a two-week period, concluding on October 7.

The District Administration Office in Dhading has officially announced that all motor vehicles will be halted at Khayarghari and Pokharekhola during these hours to facilitate the ongoing road expansion work between Simle and Malekhu.

This decision was reached during a recent meeting attended by various stakeholders in the district, where they collectively decided to prioritize road widening and upgrading efforts. Notably, emergency service vehicles, including ambulances and fire engines, will be exempt from these restrictions and will be allowed to pass through the construction zone even during the designated closure hours.

The government’s ongoing project aims to upgrade the Prithvi Highway to four lanes, and road widening and upgrading activities are currently underway in different segments. The Prithvi Highway serves as the primary lifeline for the Kathmandu Valley, functioning as the gateway for essential supplies entering the valley.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and adhere to the closure schedule during this essential construction period.
