PM Dahal Emphasizes Nepal’s Global Presence and Diplomatic Achievements
In a recent address to the House of Representatives on Sunday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda emphasized Nepal’s active role on the global stage. He shared insights from his participation in the United Nations General Assembly and his visit to China.
During his speech, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the significance of his visit in gaining support from the United Nations and the international community for Nepal’s peace process. He stressed the importance of global recognition for Nepal’s successful transition from conflict to peace, its pursuit of sustainable development goals, its response to climate change, and the challenges faced by least-developed countries, including Nepal.
Prime Minister Prachanda also recalled his visit to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly on August 30th and his subsequent trip to China on October 5th. He noted the diplomatic achievement of ending a four-year period without high-level visits between Nepal and China. These discussions solidified Nepal’s policy stance on sensitive regional issues, fostering trust at the political level. The Prime Minister expressed a commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, expanding trade, encouraging investment, and strengthening people-to-people relations.
Additionally, he highlighted the growing goodwill from Chinese leaders toward Nepal and its people, underlining the positive atmosphere of cooperation between the two nations.
