Joint Meeting of APF and SSB Officers to Enhance Border Security and Promote Religious Tolerance

In a collaborative effort to bolster border security, foster cultural and religious tolerance, curb illicit activities, and prevent encroachments in the Dasgaja area, the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal held a significant meeting with its Indian counterparts. This meeting aimed to address various pressing issues and ensure the smooth functioning of border regions while reinforcing cooperation and support.

The agreement materialized during a coordination meeting at the DIG (Deputy Inspector General) level between the APF, Chinnamasta Bahini Headquarters Bardibas of Nepal, and the Sector Headquarters of the Sashastra Seema Bal in Muzaffarpur, Betia, and Purnia.

Among the key aspects discussed were facilitating the unhindered movement of Nepalese vehicles through effective coordination with relevant agencies, implementing special security measures to combat the rising drug trafficking concerns, and collaborating with other relevant organizations to curb human trafficking and illegal economic activities in border areas.

Additionally, security officials from both countries deliberated on the efficient establishment of help desks to facilitate safe and convenient movement in border regions, with a focus on the upcoming festivals.

SAP Madhav Prasad Paudel, the spokesperson for Bahini, shed light on the security situation in the border areas during the meeting.

The meeting was led by DIG Dipendra Shah, Commander of Chinnamasta Bahini, on behalf of the APF, and DIG Deepak Kumar (IPS) of Muzaffarpur Sector Headquarters on behalf of SSB. The event was attended by DIG Suresh Subramaniam of Betiya sector headquarters and office heads representing both organizations working in border areas. This collaborative effort seeks to strengthen security measures and promote peaceful coexistence along the Nepal-India border.
