Tika Blessings Continue on Dashain’s Third Day

The vibrant and sacred festival of Dashain, celebrated by Hindus, continues to fill the air with joy and devotion as the nation marks the third day of Tika on this auspicious occasion of Bijaya Dashami.

From elders to juniors, people across the country are participating in the age-old tradition of receiving Tika, a blessed offering from their seniors and family members, as a symbol of prosperity and divine blessings. This practice, which began on the first day of Dashain, will continue until Poornima, the concluding day of this grand festival.

Tika, accompanied by the auspicious Jamara, is believed to be the divine gift of the goddess Nawa Durga, signifying blessings, prosperity, and good fortune. It is a symbol of the victory of truth over evil and divine forces’ triumph over demonic forces, making this festival even more meaningful.

This year, as with previous Dashain celebrations, people of Nepal are embracing the spirit of Bijaya Dashami, seeking blessings from their elders for the next five days, as they engage in new assignments, campaigns, and journeys. It is a widely held belief that undertaking new endeavors on this special day brings good fortune and success.

The festivities of Dashain unite the people of Nepal, fostering a sense of togetherness, tradition, and reverence for their cultural heritage. As the country continues to celebrate this joyous occasion, the spirit of Bijaya Dashami remains a significant and cherished part of the nation’s cultural fabric.
